Joshua J. Radke

Rev. Joshua J. Radke is an orthodox-catholic pastor & domestic missionary essentially developed within the Saxon tradition, as expressed in the Book of Concord of 1580; he continues to build on that firm foundation via both orthodox Lutheran and confessing Anglican expressions. Josh was formed for the Holy Office through the MDiv program at Lutheran Church-Canada’s Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Catharines ON (2016-22), while also concurrently earning his BDiv degree from the University of London-UK (2021, ‘2:1’ honours).

In September 2022, Josh received and accepted the divine ‘Call’ to serve the unaffiliated orthodox-catholic ‘Lutheran Mission in the Crown’ (now going under the name ‘Christ the King Church (a Saxon-Anglican Confessing Mission’ to better represent her ministry context), as pastor and a domestic missionary-at-large in the Highlands & Crown of Maine; the mission-congregation came about by God’s growth as fruit of his seminary field work. A related undergraduate Bible School (College Corbenic) has also been founded as part of the mission’s long-term ministry commitment to the region, and a spiritual retreat center dedicated to the Sacred Arts & Story is in the early planning stages as well—the LORD willing.

His reading, research, and writing interests focus on C.S. Lewis & Tolkien, as well as the Arthuriad (in particular), and the intersection of Theology & Story (in general); this towards a more fruitful approach towards God’s Word as the Arch-Narrative of all History. He would also consider himself an “armchair historian” of various periods and subjects, namely the Church and the development of Christian Doctrine, the Crusades, Great Britain, the American Revolution thru the War of 1812, and Maine.

Josh is working on an Arthurian-inspired prose/graphic novel series, Stitched Crosses, and he’s written a children’s picture book, The Creation, The Fall & The Promise (illustrated by Kelly Schumacher). You can follow his written musings based on his interests at his Substack and that of The MadPX Mondays.
